Ideal Emblem Company was started in the 1960’s as a supplier of patches for hiking trails. After several successful years of selling an expanding line of embroidered emblems, an award program for youths in the form of activity segments was developed. Leaders of various youth groups were always looking for activity suggestions, but they were lacking methods of rewarding the youths. Activity segments became the perfect, inexpensive, instant recognition program.

Over the past thirty years we have developed a greater focus on the activity segment program. Millions (yes, MILLIONS!) of youths have participated in positive, character building activities and earned activity segments as a result. We have supplied segments to religious and secular organizations, camps, churches, schools and clubs. We are proud of this legacy.

Now, with several hundred versions of our activity segments available and more coming every few months, any youth group can find a set of segments that fit their program. If you are in need of ideas for positive, character building activities to keep your youths interested, peruse our segment lists and the suggested usage. You will find something that fits your timeframe and your budget.

You will also be surprised at the interest your youths show at collecting these awards. They are proud to display them. We have reports of kids who have filled the entire back of a jacket with expanding circles of segments. Some have taken their segments and framed them as a memento when they advance to other programs.
